CHARTER
Summit Air Charters Ltd.
has been in the business of air transportation for over 20 years,
serving the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Owned and operated
by Steve Tanton and Dave Mathieson, Summit Air Charters Ltd. currently
operates 3 Shorts Skyvans (SC-7) mainly for cargo transport, and 3
Dornier 228s (Do228) for Executive Transport as well as cargo.
Our Dornier 228
is the Executive Configured aircraft geared for passenger comfort.
It has an impressive range of over 1400 miles non-stop, cruising at
a speedy 230 mph. With up to 19 passengers, the Dornier 228 requires
approximately 3000 feet of runway for safe operations. Powered by
2 Garrett turbine engines, producing over 1400 horsepower, it can
transport payloads of up to 4100 pounds.  Onboard
refreshments such as snacks and beverages will be served during long
flights. To ensure your continuous presence for your business, Satellite
phones are also available onboard.
Two of our Skyvans
are equipped with long-range fuel tanks giving them a range of 700
miles. With a rear-loading door, the Shorts Skyvan has an excellent
reputation for easy loading and unloading. Carrying a payload  of
up to 4500 pounds, the Skyvan requires only 2000 feet of runway for
safe operation. Operating on 2 Garrett turbine engines producing over
1400 horsepower, the Skyvan cruises at a comfortable speed of 160
mph.
Regulated by stringent company policies, Summit Air continues to strive
for excellence in safety. All of Summit Air's aircraft are equipped
beyond Instrument Flight standards. Every member of Summit Air's ground
and aircrew have gone through vigorous training for all aspects of
safety. All our Captains are Airline Transport Rated with significant
Northern experience. |
