HISTORY
Summit Air has been providing
air transportation services to various industries in Northern Canada
for over 16 years. Initially a float plane operator in Atlin, BC,
we now operate a fleet of multi-engine turbine aircraft consisting
of 3 Dornier 228s (a 19- passenger
executive aircraft) and 3 Shorts Skyvans (a versatile cargo transport
aircraft), all fully fitted for Instrument Flight operations.
Since January 2001, under the guidance of its original owner James
(Jamie) Tait, Summit Air was relocated to Yellowknife, NT to better
serve the mining industry. With a team of pilots, engineers, technicians
and apprentices, Summit Air is also a Transport Canada Approved
Maintenance Organization.
Our office is comfortably situated in the Diamond Aviation (Adlair
Aviation) hangar on the West side of the Yellowknife airport. We
have also recently constructed a non-heated hangar for cold storage
purposes.
Our operation is streamlined by a suite of sophisticated electronic
maintenance, dispatch, flight tracking, and crew scheduling system.
Since our relocation to Yellowknife, Summit Air has earned the trust
from our loyal clients while we continue to strive for a significant
presence in the logistical aspect of the ever growing exploration
and mining industry. We continue to strive
for excellence in efficiency and safety standard.
